Tradition

Each year I get excited when Asparagus season comes around, it strikes me as obscene that supermarkets bring the stuff from Peru.
Today I had site meetings in Warrington & Haydock. In between I passed Kenyon Hall Farm. Or rather I didn’t pass it. I got four bunches, but could only hold two for the photo.
So dinner was a beautiful Asparagus soup with fresh sourdough bread & enough left over for the freezer.
At the weekend I will get some more to bake with feta, to go on a puff pastry & goats cheese tart and to scoff with poached eggs.
Then soon it will be 10 months of longing & fond memories until next year.
