Grasmere and Rydal Water

Lady Linda and I walked Bella down into Hawkshead to buy some dog food. I'd miscalculated how much to bring. We left Mr W working.

Later on, we had a 7 mile walk round Grasmere and Rydal Water, feeding ducks and visiting Rydal Caves... man-made after the extraction of slate for roof tiles. One of them was pretty spectacular with stepping stones across some crystal clear water. Bella almost got the hang of them but also slipped into the water a few times.

We were lucky with the weather but got caught out with hail stones on the last half mile back to the car!!
