Wales Blue Lagoon and other Industrial Archaeology

Fabulous round walk today - Porthgain - Traeth Llyfn - Abereiddi - taking in West Wales Industrial history. Porthgain’s ‘industrial revolution’ lasted from 1837-1931- producing slate, brick and crushed stone. After the slate quarrying ceased at Abereiddi some of the walls were blasted away, resulting in this small harbour, known as The Blue Lagoon. We overheard someone saying that a RedBull cliff diving event had been held there
Lunch outside at The Sloop, a real sun trap was such a treat.
In the afternoon we walked from the cottage to Aber Bach beach and collected mussels for dinner - delicious
Extra 1 - industrial archaeology
Extra 2 blue butterflies
What a fantastic week - we head home tomorrow
