Last night

Due to Covid restrictions restaurants are being forced to serve takeaway food only from today. Consequently last night was our last night out and we chose Italian food. The last few times that we have been here it has been very quiet, but last night it was full. Fortunately they quessed that we would visit them and saved us a table. The owner was overwhelmed by the support he received, he had been considering closing his doors, but has now decided to serve takeaway food. This will keep his staff in work, which is good. Sadly many small restaurants will not survive. I could understand this shutdown if the virus was spreading, but in Chiang Mai the number of cases has dropped, only 57 cases were reported on Friday and no deaths. This ruling also effects Tuktuk drivers, Grab drivers, Song taews and taxis. Food delivery services are the only winners. As for us, I will dust off my pans plus hubby will go to restaurants and pick up dinner for us. Swimming pools and gyms are now officially closed. We are hoping that these measures will only be in place for 14 days.

The wearing of masks is now mandatory even in cars and fines can be issued.

Stay safe and well.
