Colourful not brown / Bunt statt braun

It felt shocking and unsettling to have the extreme right Nationaldemokratische Partei Deutschlands (NPD) parade through our town today - that’s right, Nazis marching in the streets of Germany, of all countries!

On the other hand, it was good that there were so few of them that they were hugely outnumbered not only by the heavy police presence, but also by the vast majority of people here, who turned out for a series of vigils and counter-demonstrations.

Thankfully, today was for coloured skirts not brown shirts.
