A Tiny Garden in NE Wales

New beginnings

Hair appt in a few weeks and my lovely hairdresser wants an updated picture. She comes to the house and needs to know what equipment to bring. I suggested hedge trimmers.

But what about new beginnings. Well. In Feb 2018 we went on a walk above Corwen and spotted a building with a sign telling us about it's content. Basically a turbine house for a local hydro scheme being set up for the local area. As we ascended the walk we saw the pipelines for the water and then came across the reservoir providing the water. There was a website where you could register your interest. So we did. 18 months later! we got an email asking if we were still interested (we were) and to fill in details.
January 2020 we were invited to a meeting about the scheme and to finalise joining the scheme. We sent everything off only to find out that our smart meter was not compatible with Octopus who were the energy partners. They would fit a new one once we switched from Scottish Power.
March 2020 and everything paused. Octopus stopped fitting smart meters. So we were put on hold.
March 2021 we finally get an email saying things are moving again.
April 2021 the switching is happening and today we are no longer Scottish Power customers. Today we belong to our local energy scheme powered by hydro with top ups from the grid when needed. We are mighty pleased although wondering on the wisdom of joining in the middle of a drought lol ;)
