May morning on the river

For the first time in over a year got together with some friends to celebrate May morning, weave our willow garlands and send them out onto the water with our prayers for the coming year. Beltane is a time of purification, abundance and possibility. It was rather cold - we had sun, rain and hail - and the hawthorn is not yet in blossom. Only 5 of us gathered and we kept our distance. But our hearts were warmed by being in our circle again.
