Flower Fairies

The violets are blooming in the dooryard and the Flower Fairies are dancing!  I learned about the Flower Fairy paintings of Cicely Mary Barker when I was very young and have loved her illustrations ever since.  I was delighted to find these little ones on toothpicks a couple of years ago and used them for a Summer Solstice party to decorate the cupcakes I served.  They are also fun dancing amongst the violets too!

I've added as an extra one of her books.  Her original drawings were done in the first half of the 20th century but they've been reprinted continuously ever since.  They are enchanting.  (An extra of the delicious Guinness Chocolate cupcakes with Bailey's Irish Cream frosting. Yum!)
