Cactus Moon

We are finally out of our vehicle! After 1,541 miles (2,480 km) in the car we arrived eight minutes past what Google Maps predicted (which was 28 hours even). Probably would have been right on if we hadn't got lost trying to find our hotel yesterday. Our aging SUV averaged 16.3 miles per gallon which I thought was pretty good considering my bike was on top the whole way and we had a pretty stiff headwind the past two days. The gas and tolls cost us around 12,000 pesos, a little under $600 usd.

The next four months will find us living in the Sonoran Desert so I expect there will be plenty of cactus photos. Thought I might start a new series with this one captured as we filled up with gas one final time at a Pemex in Caborca before making the easy, and short, two hour drive to Puerto Peñasco.
