Camouflage

Early on, when I was pottering around in the garden, there were lots of birds - even a cheeky robin who was wandering around within a couple of feet of me (I had to shoo him away, don't want Christmas clichés in the garden in spring!). Of course, I got the camera out (full tripod, big lens and cable release) and there was a deadly hush and nothing about. Finally, I saw this great tit at the far end of the garden showing off his back and why having that muted colour helps in avoiding predators. Great dawn chorus though - I'll be fit for me bed soon.
