What monster is this?

I came across this skull of a Muntjac deer at the nature reserve today. I often find them, rarely a whole skull after the foxes and badgers have had a go, but the wonderful short antlers help make a quick identification. I see lots of live ones as well and they are fun to watch, but we are completely over-run with them and having to work with local farmers to cull them. Left to increase, they would eat most of our rare orchids and prevent any natural regeneration. As with other such pests, they are not native, but were released from nearby Woburn Abbey around 1900.
