Before the rain.

From the bedroom window.

The annual spectacular. The Magnolia in the middle is guarded by two flowering cherry trees. One white and one pink.

These were all here when we bought the house 18 years ago. For about one week every year they look like this.

The first spots of rain are coming down. Heavy rain and strong winds are forecast for this afternoon. This means that the blossom is likely to be damaged and tomorrow will see petals on the ground. I was anxious to photograph them today whilst they are at their best.
