Life of Brian.

Today sees the 20th Anniversary of the Hillsborough Disaster. I was 7 years old and I can clearly remember the day's events. Me and my brother had been to watch dad play rugby. We arrived home to find Mum in the living room, glued to the tv. I remember the pictures on Grandstand, obviously not understanding the enormity of what was happening. I recall the death toll rising by each hour. I recall the look of disbelief on my parents' face. I recall Moira Stewart's news report.

As a lifelong Liverpool fan, I just felt it prudent to pay my own quiet respects. For the families, what happened that day must be unfathomable and my thoughts go out to you all.

When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark

At the end of the storm
Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of the lark

Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown

Walk on walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk

You'll never walk
You'll never walk alone
