Fill 'er up

The regular honeybees seem to prefer the holy basil and to a lesser extent are seen on the plumbago, cherry pie and lavender whereas these Blue Banded bees generally zoom around like maniacs only occasionally sipping from the tomato flowers, salvias and the plumbago.  They don't fancy the lavender or cherry pie at all.

I have seen other native bees including the stingless bees, feeding off the Rosemary flowers. Maybe this Blue Banded bee was slower because of the colder weather or maybe it was on a Rosemary high, but whatever the cause, I was lucky to get this shot.

Many thanks too for the love on Star Wars yesterday.
