Van life - Day 2

At high tide last night we walked the 3 mile return to Chanonry Point to see if we could spot bottlenose dolphins. We were lucky to see a few though not so lucky with the photos. I’m glad we went then as today is not as bright.

It rained here most of the night but the snow line looks about 200ft above sea level. We were cozy as we have hook up so could run the heating on very low to take the chill off.

As soon as there was a break in the rain we headed out this morning in the opposite direction from last night. We explored Rosemarkie, a pretty village. The churchyard had some ornate old gravestones. The museum in only open by appointment at weekends so that was disappointing. We stopped at a cafe run by the community and had a mug of homemade tomato soup which was lovely and warming. No sooner had that warmed us up than the wind died down and the sun came out. So we had to strip off some layers! The bottom right photo of the collage is looking back towards the camp site distant far left and the village on the right.

We were able to get a Guardian and just got back before the next blatter of rain. Spot on George Monbiot and a great photo of Gordon Brown on the front. Oh for the days of an honourable man in Westminster.
