A day of drama

Set off early this morning to return daughter and her belongings to Edinburgh to start back at work and move into her new flat. A long driving day leaving at 9am and returning about 6.30pm. Stopped briefly on the way home to see a friend when I got a text from KK to say "Help me it's an emergency can someone come and get me" He was supposed to be at the Gym 2 and a half hours from me. Luckily hubby sped to his rescue. He had been on his own in the gym changing rooms from school when the fire alarm went but he found he couldn't get out as the doors were locked, he had accessed it from within the school. Eventually he found a fire door which he forced open ut then he hid from the firecrew and police who had arrived as he thought he might be in trouble, until his father picked him up. Luckily it was also a false alarm but the services panicked as they were using the hall to count the votes..

A lovely evening walk along the canalside to chill out with hubby when we heard a strange noise out to sea. I looked with my binoculars to see a dog swimming and lost about half a mile offshore and a mile out into the bay, it was howling and not far from going under. A rush back to the harbour where we found a boat with a helpful guy who borrowed a small rib and headed out into the bay and managed to pick up the dog which was a very small black head only just seen with binoculars above the waves. The dog was returned to a frantic owner on the Crinan spit, she was standing up to her waist in water and must have been distraught as she could no longer see the dog. The dog would certainly have drowned if it had not been howling and made us look. Extra taken with long lens and cropped of dog with owner after being reunited

Now I desrve a gin and tonight it's Caorunn gin and black peper crisps
