It's been that kind of a day!

Not a day for a long rambling walk ... too cold, too wet and just thoroughly miserable.

My hellebores have lost much of their colour and vibrancy but they have been flowering for about four months. This particular plant is right outside my front door .... realising that the weather wasn't going to improve I nipped out, still in my slippers, to take a quick pic.

I had never noticed before just how well the raindrops clung to the petals which are looking a bit like an old fashioned lampshade.
