Vaccine One

Our primary purpose in visiting the U.S., apart from seeing our daughter, was to get our first Covid vaccine. It has been far too long coming, but with the United States' plethora of vaccines we thought it better to wait until we were in country to get ours. Despite reports that it was easy for any/everyone, the path to our first dose was anything but. Our first stop had only one "extra" vaccine. The county vaccination site required proof of California residency. Our next stop was not taking walk in's. Back to the first location, where at least my wife could get her initial jab. Finally, at Walgreen's, I hit a place with plenty extra doses, that didn't care about my residency nor insurance. This bandaid, shot on the beach between volleyball games later that day, is a reminder that we are on the path to complete coverage in another month (of course, my wife received the other vaccine, so we will have to coordinate two different visits on our return).
