Mothering Sunday

The 4th Sunday in Lent when girls "in service" were allowed to have the day off to go home and visit their mothers.

28 of our cows have given birth in the last month, one of them less than an hour ago. Luckily they are all in a warm barn in deep straw, as there's snow in the icy wind outside.

Maggie's calf was born on Thursday and has clearly got the hang of where hot milk comes from...
