Day outing

Sultan has been suffering from a cough for months and our new young vet has been giving all sorts of different medication but it doesn't seem to get better.

While Angie likes the vet, she is now worried that her treatment is not quite right. So a bit of phoning around to find a clinic with all the diagnostic machinery to actually see what is happening in the lungs.

A bit of a drive but went well and the good news is that our vet has been doing the right thing, the bad news, he has very firm gunge sitting in his lungs that is very difficult to shift. Riding and being out on grass where he stretches his neck downwards to eat is good. The only other real treatment is inhalation and so Angie has rounded up a cheap used electric one for humans and then adapted to a, again used, bucket like mouth piece. Must try to photograph it when in use.

We thought Sultan may have to stay overnight as clinics seem to like doing this and he had been sedated for the various diagnostic tests, but luckily he was allowed home. The Ifor Williams Welsh trailer bought in the UK on 22nd May 1999 is still doing excellent work. MoT due next month but should be no problem-
