I am grateful for ...

What a Day!

We saw some photographers out in the field and thought they knew something. Set up and waited....soon Mom and her three kits came wandering into out sights. Snap, snap, snap....then Dad came!

After the greetings and much play time, Mom went off hunting. She circled around us and came within 10 yards of me. We had an eye to eye encounter. A lifetime experience. She was successful with her hunt bringing back a rabbit.

At one point I just sat back and watched. I am grateful to have witnessed these magical moments.

The afternoon was a whale watching excursion. We did see a mother and baby humpback whale but they were so far in the distance and in Canadian waters that they just looked like black spots in the ocean.

The stellar sea lion was spotted (extra). The last extra is a Mouflon sheep and baby along with a European fallow deer in the shadows. At one point Spieden Island was used for a hunting destination. They had imported game from around the world for the hunters. Thankfully that did not last long and the game survives to this day.

Ending the day on a boat with blue skies above, the wind in our hair and just enjoying sharing these experiences was such a blessing.

Back to the fox tomorrow and who knows what else we are going to do!!
