The Buttress

The Buttress, Hebden Bridge, is part of an ancient packhorse route leading from the town centre up to the village of Heptonstall.   As you can see, it's very steep and cobbled.  It's hard work on the ascent and even harder on the descent.   Good strong footwear is required as the cobbles can be very slippy in wet conditions.
