Glenkiln

A view of Glenkiln from my walk today.

I have been looking everywhere for a poem which I knew I had somewhere called « The King and Queen of Dumfriesshire » and which is not on the internet. Now I have found it in an anthology on my bedside table, and it’s e as an extra photo.

It’s inspired by a statue by Henry Moore which once stood close to where I was standing when I took the main photo. In 1995 the King and Queen were beheaded, and a few years ago all the statues except two were finally removed after a theft. The landscape is still beautiful without them.
