And now it's the turn of cow parsley and all it's cousins, blipped on an early trek to Tesco for a cauliflower, and other vegetables to be added to a slow cooker chicken curry. My son and partner were to have been coming for dinner this evening, but it turns out that she's got a sick bug. I don't want that, and it's pointless cooking for someone who can't eat so the curry's now in the freezer.

Just lately my diary is in turmoil, with things being either altered or cancelled left, right and centre. Ah well, everything will come round eventually, including the curry.

B&Q John popped round for a coffee this morning bringing good news. He's begun seeing someone lately and it's working out so far. John's wife died about 18 months ago. His friend down the road, also named John, died the same year, and now the two who are left have got together. They've known each other for over 20 years, their children were in the same class..... fingers crossed for them.

I did some cleaning, shock horror, and then went out front to do some weeding in between the showers. There are so many poppy and foxglove seedlings that it was quite tricky. My neighbour was also out weeding, so we had a good chat until a torrential downpour eventually drove us inside.

P.S. I'm relieved to find that tomorrow's walk is only 10 miles, not 16. I think it could be a wet one.
