Lunch time

The cows have just been milked, and have gone into our last turnip paddock for a bit of turnip time before going to their grass paddock. I'm sorry I've put another photo of a cow eating again - but their facial expressions are priceless. They stuff the big turnip bulb into their mouth, chew that down, and then 'suck' up the leaves that have been hanging out their mouth until the bulb has gone.

It's going to be another hot day here - lunch time and already 25 degrees. We've had a bit of a promise of rain in the long range forecast - looks like the South Island is due for a dumping of rain Sunday/Monday next week. I know that is a while away, but it is the best that we have seen for about 6 weeks. We are praying it will eventuate.
