Lathyrus Odoratus

Thanks for all the hearts and stars for yesterday's Burnt-tip orchid.

Flushed with success I spent this morning dodging showers and searching for Fly Orchid. It seems that they are rather late this year. Despite the heavy rain showers I made up for the absence of the Fly with sightings of at least half a dozen Wall Brown butterflies. The latter brought my species total to 20 for the season so far. I was surprised to find that I reached the same total at roughly the same date last year. In 2020 I saw 25 species by the end of May. That seems unlikely this year but I'm hoping to go and look for the elusive Wood White tomorrow.
