The Hill House, Helensburgh

Lovely visit to The Hill House today, designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh (National Trust for Scotland) .
I have been many times before but not since the protective steel frame structure was erected to protect the house from the rain. I do not have a head for heights but really enjoyed the nervous walk across the structure to look down on the roof of the building. The ‘Hill House Box’ consists of a steel frame covered in chain mail and is designed to allow the walls to dry out and prevent further damage, the guides told us it is working well.
