Good news!

We learn today this historic building in the centre Bridge of Allan, the former Royal hotel, will not be turned into luxury flats after all.
Instead it will become an annexe for Fairview International School (former Beaconhurst school), which already occupies premises on the edge of town.

We are uncertain how this has come about because a developer had been given permission to convert it into housing but the application aroused a lot of controversy locally with people arguing that a big housing development in the centre of this Victorian spa town was inappropriate.

Instead the school will be bringing children in, along with a touch of multiculturalism, which will make our small wee town even more interesting.
