SAVE OUR VENUES

...is what's on a big panel on another wall of the Middlesbrough Empire (built in 1899). This is next door to the Town Hall of yesterday's blip*, and I've just looked it up to find that it's opening again on 21st June.

*I checked today, and indeed those sparklingly bright telephone boxes outside the Town Hall are empty of equipment, and some sort of installation - of which there are several about the town - although there was nothing nearby to explain.

The trial in which I was serving as a juror ended this afternoon, but I have to go back next week in case I'm needed on another one. I'm glad to have a long weekend to recover - it was fairly grim.
