Memorial statue

Today I visited Helsinki to meet with a councelor of the Embassy of Japan. We had a very nice meeting and now we are waiting for their official proposal. After more than two hours of meeting, I had almost three hours left before the train departuret, so I used it for geocaching and photography. This new Winter War memorial in statue was very picturesque against cloudy sky, so worth of blip.

The statue created by sculptor Pekka Kauhanen depicts a military figure standing on earth. The soldier has been shot through a sieve, 105 photographs have been placed inside the planet telling about different parts of the Winter War. The symbolism can be found, as the Winter War lasted 105 days.
