No End to Weeding in Sight

Sunny and warm all day. Awake at 5:30 am after having had very little rest. Guess there were chiggers in the flower bed I cleaned yesterday. Every one of them is on me now. Boy am I a miserable mess. Made orange cranberry muffins and did a load of laundry. Then we headed out to tackle the formal garden. I may have mentioned before that many years ago, hubby built the 19 geometric shaped raised beds and enclosed them in a fence to keep out the deer-not. In the collage, you will see a before and after shot of one of the hosta beds. Boy, I really dislike chick weed!! But it is gone till next spring hopefully. Hubby mulched the weeded beds and they look great. Three down, 16 more to go. But most of them will be much easier. The other flowers in the collage are growing out there. I was especially excited to see the new bearded iris color. We came in for showers and lunch at 2:00 pm. Hubby mowed the lawn and I stretched out on the recliner. Great news today. Grandson Chase was accepted in the Global International Studies (GIS) program for high school. Competition is tough so we are very proud of him. Leftover burgers for dinner after hubby returns from his Fourth Degree KofC meeting. Tackle those big jobs one piece at a time and you’ll be pleased how quickly they get finished. Thanks for the visits.
