New beginnings

Cycle

After going to the market early to beat the tourist crowds as it is another bank holiday weekend here and a couple of hours of work, Sandy and I escaped for a lunchtime 26 km road cycle circling the village.
We ended up stumbling upon the grave of one of my great-uncles in a little (private?) chapel by poking our head through the tiny window (extra)- my father had been looking for it in the Comps village cemetery last time he came to visit.
We also saw many orphrys "bee" orchids at Col de Vesc before heading back home via La Paillette where we both nearly got mowed down by a small electric car (Sandy tried unsuccessfully to stop the driver to tell him/her what he thought using very bad French!).
We will end the day with an early evening meal with friends as the curfew is now at 9 pm although it does not seem to apply to the bar down the street where many drinkers can be heard late ...
