Cranachan.

Our older son and fiancé are getting married in July. We went with them, her parents and our younger son, for a wedding menu tasting session at the hotel where the reception is being held. The food was lovely, and beautifully presented. Any of the dishes could have become my journal post for today... but I chose the Cranachan. Toasted Scottish oatmeal, raspberries, cream and a spot of whisky! Excellent, a traditional Scottish dessert. It’s now one of their confirmed choices.

Our hotel visit was a covid19 safe experience; all the protocols in place. We were appropriately seated in a large area, with a family seated elsewhere and a few others in a separate part of the restaurant. Our first meal in a restaurant since last Spring. It was encouraging. 425 days of Covid restrictions.

Earlier in the day our friend hung another couple of replacement doors. He’s coming back on Thursday 27 May.

My younger son came this morning (on the way to a golf competition) and gave me another lockdown haircut in the garden. Nice job again. He did well in the competition; he’s on form just now. He’s playing with some friends at the Gleneagles Championship Course tomorrow.
