Got up relatively early and hopped on the bikes to get to the Botanics. It was really nice to be there early before it got too busy. We did get rained on although we managed to find shelter in the alpine house. The rhododendron were spectacular (see extra). However, the highlight was the blue Himalayan poppies. Bike ride home via Stockbridge Market to stock up on cheese and home via the Roseburn Path and the Meadows. Stockbridge is such a traffic nightmare. Where are all those cars going to? The place would be so much nicer if there was no through-traffic.
