Ouse valley viaduct

Mr U&L and I had to pick a purchase up from Ardingly today, so on the way home we stopped off at the Ouse valley viaduct at Balcombe.
Designed by John Urpeth Rastrick it was constructed in 1842 at a cost of £38,500. It is 1,480 feet long with 37 spans. It has been described as the most elegant viaduct in Britain. I have added a more conventional view in extras.
