Not really, handmade lace is only affordable for wedding dresses off the rich but lace made on machines is finer, more beautiful and produced for peanuts!
Allowing millions to enjoy it, mostly on lingerie.
Watching the bobins weaving around pins to produce a strip of lace is amazing.
Sadly the extra is their more likely fate, to be admired as an interesting memento of a lost craft. :-((
