Raindrops on Roses

Bella and I had time together, away from her house, for the first time in many months. Despite the fact that it was raining, at first just showers and later pelting down, we had a beautiful time at the rose garden. Since she was a baby I have always told her it's OK to pick up petals that have fallen on the ground. She gathers them, stacks them together, and calls them a "book." She's ten and a half now, but she still loves making a book of petals. In the Extra you can see she had to blink away the rain from her eyes. We sang, laughed, splashed, and had a marvelous time, and then I took her to our favorite deli for tomato-orange soup. She finished off an entire pint of it with a little baguette. Bliss.
