Seamill Beach Ripples

The unusual March snowfall from the previous night is still clinging to the peaks of Arran which you can just see on the horizon in this image of Seamill beach in Ayrshire. I liked the interface between the flat, smooth water in the pool and the fingers of sand ripples jutting into it, as well as the customary drama in the sky. A lot to get in, so I needed my 10mm wide angle lens on my Nikon D300s. There was a wide range of tones too, so I took 3 images at various exposures and combined them in the computer to get detail in the highlights as well as the shadows.
