Not for the first time the HP printer stopped talking to the laptop or maybe it’s the other way round?

Either way this is a pain they stopped communicating for no apparent reason. All conventional steps like rebooting, Re-installing printer resulted in occasional flashes of success only to be later disappointed when off line message re appeared.

Helplines are totally misnamed and virtual help is virtually useless.
