The tree surgeons arrived as planned today, to fell an enormous eucalyptus, entwined in some equally large conifers and which was leaning quite precariously into my neighbours garden.

Their first reaction was nervous laughter and a declaration that the job looked "interesting".

Four guys and five hours later it was down. They did a brilliant job. I was really impressed, it had the potential to go very wrong. They're back tomorrow to deal with the conifers and an out of control holly tree in the front.

I've added a kitten (cat) for scale.
