Celebrations

Invited for a really lovely lunch with our Swedish friends who live in Monsaraz, just outside the walls. They've really been through the wars lately, felt for them. As they've lived here on and off for over 30 years, asked them for their top five tips for adapting to Alentejano culture, which led to interesting conversation...

We clinked the gorgeous ceramic glasses from when Gunilla worked in Capri, twice - once for their wedding anniversary today, and once for our Zion's 7th birthday, in England.

Gratefuls:
- definite top one is for our grandson, Zion, we love and miss him so much... grateful we could be with him last year, and just plain super grateful for the gift of him to our family!
- Bengt and Gunilla's lovely, shady garden, it was hot today, over 30C
- that the poles Mike ordered actually arrived more or less when they said they would
