This is Arthur T Walmisley's unassuming little bridge in Chatham. It carries “New Road” over Railway Street. New Road is also known as the A2, or Watling Street. Watling Street was built by the Romans, but back then, before this bridge was built, you had to go down the steps beside the statue of Thomas Waghorn and up the other side past Wickes if you wanted to reach London or battle with Boudicca.
