Peony Gardens

One of our local state parks has a beautiful peony garden that I visited for the first time today.  It was dreadfully hot, but half the garden was in the shade so I was able to get some nice flower shots without the intense sunlight and without wilting myself. 

I especially liked this bloom because of the hugging petals at the center.

It was hard to find a shot that didn't have a cicada in it.
