One Vision

Woah good job Junior!

The baby grebes have grown and as I thought last week one of the chicks had been predated hence the attitude of the parents on that day however the remaining two are thriving and mum is now sitting on the nest hatching a second brood. 

Standing on the water's edge the tiny but persistent calls of the smaller of the chicks could be heard all around and no wonder dad got fed up and was saying to go away and leave him in peace to preen a bit. He had my full sympathy. He works so hard catching the fish to bring home the bacon - not that the grebes are doing 'surf and turf' at any point.

The guys today have been working really hard tho' this afternoon when I had to work in the office the machinery noise was difficult to blank out. Hurrah it's a Bank Holiday and we get three clear lie-ins though I think the old body clock will wake us whatever :)
