Are we there yet?

Boiler update on the cards....

We have these two large and expensive to run electric hot water boilers which were installed in 2004. The house has three bathrooms all with baths and separate showers and most of the time we only use one of these 250 litre units supplying the water. However, with the girls growing up and more family / friends etc coming to stay, the need for all three bathrooms to be used is going to increase substantially.

Today I had quotes for new and purportedly highly efficient heat source replacement boilers. They have a larger capacity (300 litres each) and its a large chunk of change to pay out but my electricity usage and bills should be substantially less as a result. The new ones should pay for themselves within the next 10 years all things being equal, and if you factor in how much electricity prices could rise over the next 10 years, possibly a couple of years sooner.

I’m looking at using 2 x Fischer Aquafficient Eco units - if anyone here in the UK has an experience of using them I’d really appreciate any feedback.
