A Special Day Out

Today we enjoyed a belated 40th anniversary gift, a 3 course roast dinner and journey on the North York Moors Railway. What a lovely set up and excellent food. I took over 200 images and videos on my phone, it has been hard to show a highlight set. We travelled from Grosmont station to Pickering and return.

Main Blip: At Pickering the engine was unhitched and moved to the other end for the return journey. Shame I clipped the flat cap.

Extras:

Train tracks at Grosmont, don't worry the crossing barriers were closed and this is the way to get between the platforms.

Reflections, showing the tables awaiting us to board and the station. Next season my camera club has reflections as a competition theme...

Happy Snappers at Goathland.

Matilda on top of the world. We took Matilda, it was a 100 mile round trip. There were quite a few 25% hills to climb as we crossed the moors. Here we stopped at the top of one that had included a couple of 25% hills and the one behind which was 33% steep! Just once or twice we went down to 1st gear...
