As the crow tries

A surprisingly warm and sunny day after the early haar burned off. Sitting outside for lunch, it was great to talk to Gail, who'd got out of hospital this morning.

There was loads of activity in the tree, with the parent crows cawing and the young ones flapping furiously from branch to branch.

At one point this one flew as well as it could to one of the neighbouring roofs. Reminded me of when the kids were learning to swim, only with much less water.

As predicted, Stella was too lazy to jump the new gate. But not too lazy to whine when she got bored of being in the back garden.
