MEMORIAL DAY 2021

Today, while walking our dogs, a friend & I came across this 
METROLINK MEMORIAL near the train station in our town,
It is in memory of the 25 victims who perished & 135 injured 
who were aboard a commuter train that crashed in 
Chatsworth, California on a warm day in September 2008.

Although this METROLINK TRAIN DISASTER did not occur 
in our city, many of the victims lived here & are remembered by
friends & neighbors.  

This memorial has 11 basalt columns, 25 stone markers with
the victims names, beautiful plants & a place to sit, for anyone 
who comes to mourn.  It is located next to the train tracks 
in a shady glade of mature trees.  

On Memorial Day in the US, many people mourn their 
loved ones who served in the military.  In our city,
many will be mourning these lost love ones, who died,
 as they travelled home from work.
