Yellow lichen

Xanthoria parietina or Common Orange Lichen is a marker for pollution or rather for too much nitrogen in the air. It's quite common in our area under the smoke of the industry in the Antwerp harbour and the many large pig farms in the area as well. While it's called orange in English it is more yellow than orange over here and even more green when it appears in shadowy parts of a shrub or tree. In our garden on the magnolia tree in the shadow. For Tiny Tuesday and its theme of yellow with thanks to pinkhairedlady for hosting in June.

Thanks very much for the kind comments and stars for yesterday's shiny door knob :-)
