Richmond day 2 London

Today we had an early start and headed into London for the day. We had trouble with the trains as the 2 Underground lines that took us to our first venue were both closed for the Bank Holiday weekend (useful) and one of the stations that we were hoping to use was closed until 2022! Thankfully, a very helpful Transport for London man helped us to get there on a different route. When we got to Victoria, we struggled to find the right bus and so we jumped in a cab to take us to The Natural History Museum. If we'd had more time, we would have walked but we had pre-booked entrance tickets. The museum was stunning and I was glad that I was finally able to tick it off my 'to do' list. The architecture alone is worth a visit but the exhibits definitely steal the show, especially the whale in the entrance hall and the amazing dinosaur fossils.
We then got the Underground to St Paul's, grabbing a sandwich en route and enjoyed looking around at the stunning architecture inside this spectacular building.
Afterwards, we headed on foot to Tower Bridge to pick up a boat, crossing Millennium Bridge and London Bridge on the way and getting some pics of The Shard to add to our collection for the day.
We enjoyed a lovely ice-cream and drink before boarding a boat to Westminster. Once there, we headed back to Victoria and stopped at The Ivy for a delicious tea before returning to our hotel in Richmond. The day was boiling hot and we walked over 10 miles but it was worth it as we really enjoyed ourselves. My feet are covered in blisters and my muscles ache but London is definitely one of my favourite places for a day out.
